How to use the App Store Screenshot Generator
Add your screenshots with Add screenshots, or drag and drop or paste them. Each one becomes a slide; reorder with the Move buttons.
Write a caption for each slide: a short benefit-focused headline and an optional subtitle.
Choose the style: layout, device frame, background preset or custom colors, font and text and device size.
Tick the store sizes you need, and check each one in the preview with the size selector.
Press Download all (ZIP), or download just the current slide, then upload each folder to the matching device size in App Store Connect or Google Play Console.

A screenshot set that converts
Slide 1: the main promise. What does the app do for the user, in one line?
Slides 2–4: the top features, each tied to a benefit, with the screen that proves it.
Slide 5+: trust and extras: widgets, dark mode, sync, privacy, accessibility.
Keep a consistent style: same background family, font and frame on every slide so the set reads as one story.
Check thumbnails: in search results screenshots appear small. If the headline isn't readable in the small previews under the editor, make it shorter or bigger.
Getting clean raw screenshots
Use the simulator or a real device at the largest screen size and fill the app with realistic, friendly sample data.
Set the status bar to a clean state (full battery, strong signal, a round time like 9:41) before capturing.
Capture in the same orientation as the final images; the frame keeps the screenshot's own proportions.
Frequently asked questions
What screenshot sizes does the App Store require?
For iPhone apps, App Store Connect requires a set for the 6.9-inch display: 1320 × 2868, 1290 × 2796 or 1260 × 2736 pixels in portrait (or the same sizes in landscape). If you don't provide 6.9-inch screenshots, the 6.5-inch set (1284 × 2778 or 1242 × 2688) is required instead. Apps that run on iPad also need a 13-inch iPad set: 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. You can upload up to 10 screenshots per size. Apple updates these rules, so confirm them in App Store Connect before submitting.
What are the Google Play screenshot requirements?
Google Play accepts JPEG or 24-bit PNG screenshots without transparency, from 320 to 3840 pixels on each side, with the long side no more than twice the short side. You need at least 2 and can upload up to 8 phone screenshots. To be eligible for some promotional placements, Google recommends at least 4 screenshots of 1080 pixels or more, for example 1080 × 1920 in portrait.
Why does the PNG option say “no alpha”?
Both stores reject or flatten screenshots with transparency. Browsers normally save canvas images as 32-bit PNG with an alpha channel even when nothing is transparent. This tool writes its own 24-bit RGB PNG files, so the export contains no alpha channel at all. JPG has no transparency either and makes smaller files.
How many screenshots should I make?
Most successful listings use 4–8 screenshots. The first two or three matter most, because they show in search results and on the listing before people scroll. Lead with the main benefit of the app, then show the key features in order, one idea per screenshot.
How should I write screenshot captions?
Keep headlines to 2–6 words that state a benefit (“Plan meals in minutes”) rather than a feature name. Use the subtitle for a short detail. Make the text large enough to read on a phone-sized thumbnail; the text size slider and the small thumbnails under the preview help you check.
Can my screenshots show a device frame?
Yes. Apple and Google allow marketing screenshots with frames, backgrounds and captions, as long as they show the actual app experience and don't mislead. The frames here are generic device outlines and are not official product images. Make sure the content in the screen comes from your real app.
Are my screenshots uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering, PNG/JPG encoding and the ZIP file are all done in your browser. Your style settings are saved in this browser's local storage; screenshots and captions are not stored.
