How to use the Bubble Letter Generator
Type your letters: a name, a message such as Happy Birthday, or tap A–Z, a–z or 0–9 for a full set.
Choose a layout: fit everything on one page, one letter per page for banners and bulletin boards, or set an exact letter height.
Pick a style: outline letters for coloring, or filled one-color, rainbow or pastel letters. Adjust puffiness, outline thickness and spacing.
Check the pages with Prev and Next. The info line shows how tall the capital letters will print.
Download the PDF (all pages) or a PNG of the current page, or press Print. Print at 100% / Actual size so the letters keep their size.
How many bubble letters fit on a page?
When you set the letter height, the tool wraps your words into lines and pages automatically. The table gives a rough guide for Letter paper with a 0.45 in margin; wide letters such as M and W take more room than I or L, and puffier letters need more space.

How bubble letters are drawn
Hand-drawn bubble letters start with an ordinary letter and puff it up: every edge is pushed outward the same distance and all corners become round, so the letter looks inflated like a balloon. This generator does the same thing digitally. It traces each letter with a very thick round-cornered stroke (the Puffiness setting), adds an outline around that shape (Outline thickness), and then places small shine marks in the upper left, where light would reflect off a round surface. Small holes in letters like a, e and B close up at high puffiness, which is normal for chunky bubble letters; lower the puffiness to keep them open.
Ideas and tips
Party banners: choose One letter per page and Rainbow, print on card stock, cut out and hang the letters on string.
Coloring and crafts: use Outline with a thick outline (4 to 6%) so young children can color inside the lines and cut along the edges more easily.
Bulletin boards: a 3 to 4 inch letter height in landscape fits a short heading on very few pages.
Save ink: outline letters use far less ink than filled ones; color them in by hand afterwards.
Keep the size: always print at 100% (Actual size). Scaling to fit makes letters smaller than the chosen height.
Type your text, choose Outline for coloring or a filled style, pick your paper size and press Download PDF. Open the PDF and print it at 100% or Actual size. For a banner, choose One letter per page so every letter fills a full sheet.
How big will the letters be?
In Fit and One letter per page modes the letters grow to fill the printable area, and the info line under the preview shows the printed height. To get a specific size, choose Set the letter height and pick 1 to 8 inches; that is the full height of a capital letter including its outline.
How do I print the whole bubble alphabet?
Tap the A–Z button. It switches to one letter per page so you get 26 pages, each with one large letter. Switch the layout to Set the letter height (for example 3 inches) to fit several letters on each page and save paper.
Can I print bubble letters for coloring?
Yes. The Outline style draws black outlines with white insides, ideal for coloring pages, classroom bulletin boards and crafts. Turn on Shine marks for the little highlight shapes that make bubble letters look shiny once colored.
Why are my letters smaller than expected when printed?
Printers often shrink pages with Fit to page or Scale to fit. Choose 100%, Actual size or No scaling in the print dialog. Also make sure the paper size in the printer matches the one chosen here (Letter or A4).
Can I use the letters in Cricut or other design apps?
Download the PNG, which is 300 dpi and can have a transparent background. Most design and cutting apps can import a PNG and trace it into a cut file.
What is the difference between this and the bubble text generator?
This tool draws large printable bubble letters as images and PDFs. The bubble text generator converts text into circled Unicode characters (like ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ) for copying and pasting into social media.
