How to use the Wedding Invitation Maker
Choose a design from the six wedding templates at the top.
Pick who is hosting and the ceremony type; the opening and request lines fill in with the matching etiquette, and you can edit every word.
Enter both names, the date, time and venue. Choose formal words, “Month day, year” or numbers for the date.
Add the reception and extra lines such as “Dinner and dancing to follow” or a dress code.
Set up the RSVP card: reply-by date, meal choices and optional lines, then preview it on the RSVP tab.
Download the 5 × 7 PDF, the RSVP PDF, both in one PDF, or a PNG to share digitally, and print at 100% on card stock.

Printing tips
Card stock: 80–110 lb cover (about 216–300 gsm) feels substantial and still feeds through most home inkjet and laser printers.
Print at 100%. Turn off “Fit to page” so the 5 × 7 card prints at its true size, and use the printer's rear or manual feed for thick paper.
Proofread twice. Check the spelling of every name, the day of the week against the date, and the venue address before printing a full batch.
Order extras. Print about 10–15% more than your guest-list households for mistakes, late additions and a keepsake copy.
Postage: a single 5 × 7 invitation with an RSVP card usually needs more than one standard stamp once inserts are added; weigh a finished set at the post office, as square or very thick envelopes cost extra.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a standard wedding invitation?
The standard US wedding invitation is 5 × 7 in, mailed in an A7 envelope (5.25 × 7.25 in). RSVP cards are usually smaller; this tool makes a 5 × 3.5 in reply card, which fits an A1 or 4bar envelope (3.625 × 5.125 in) once you trim it or a slightly larger A2 envelope as is.
When should wedding invitations be sent?
Send invitations about six to eight weeks before the wedding, and ten to twelve weeks for a destination wedding. Save-the-dates usually go out four to six months before, or eight to twelve months for destination weddings. Set the RSVP date about three to four weeks before the wedding so you can give final numbers to your caterer; the tool pre-fills a date 28 days before.
Should I write “honour of your presence” or “pleasure of your company”?
By tradition, “request the honour of your presence” is used when the ceremony takes place in a house of worship, and “request the pleasure of your company” for ceremonies at other venues or for the reception. Choose the ceremony type and the wording updates automatically. The British spelling “honour” and “favour” is customary on formal American invitations too.
How do I word the invitation when parents are hosting?
Traditionally the hosts are named first: the bride's parents “request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter”, followed by the bride's first and middle names, “to”, and the groom's full name. When both families host, list both sets of parents and say “the marriage of their children”. Choose the matching preset and replace the sample names.
How do I print the invitations at home?
Download the PDF, load 5 × 7 in card stock (or Letter card stock and trim) and print at 100% / Actual size with the highest quality setting. Most home printers handle card stock up to about 110 lb (300 gsm) through the rear or manual feed. Print one test copy on plain paper first to check the colors and text.
Can I use the PNG for digital invitations?
Yes. The PNG is 1500 × 2100 pixels (300 dpi at 5 × 7 in), sharp enough to send by email or messaging apps, upload to a wedding website, or print at a photo lab as a 5 × 7 print.
Is my information private?
Yes. Names, dates and addresses are used only to draw the card in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server, and there is no account or watermark.
