Replace or add: which mode to use
Replace words turns a sentence into an emoji puzzle, great for games, riddles and playful messages: "I love pizza" becomes "I โค๏ธ ๐". Add emoji after words keeps the text fully readable and decorates it, which works well for social media captions, newsletters and invitations: "I love โค๏ธ pizza ๐".
For captions, a density of 30 to 50% usually looks natural; 100% is fun for jokes and puzzles. Use emojis thoughtfully in professional messages and keep important words as text, because screen readers announce each emoji by its name.
Frequently asked questions
How does the emoji translator work?
Each word is looked up in a built-in dictionary of more than 1,100 English words and short phrases, each linked to one or more emojis. Plurals and verb forms are reduced to their base word, so dogs, running and baked are recognised too. Words without a match are left unchanged.
What does the density slider do?
It sets the share of matching words that get an emoji. At 100% every word in the dictionary is converted; at 30% only about one in three is. The choice of words is stable while you move the slider, so the text changes gradually. Shuffle picks a different selection.
Why do emojis look different on my friend's phone?
Emojis are standard Unicode characters, but each platform (Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and others) draws them in its own style. The meaning is the same; only the artwork differs. Very new emojis may show as an empty box on older devices, so this tool sticks to well-supported emojis.
Can it translate emoji back to text?
No, this tool goes one way, from words to emoji. Many emojis have several possible meanings, so turning them back into exact words is unreliable.
Does it work in other languages?
The dictionary is English only. Words in other languages are left as they are, so you can still mix languages and the English words will be converted.
Is my text saved or uploaded?
No. Translation runs in your browser and your text is not sent anywhere.
