Pages per day formula
Pages per day = (total pages − pages read) ÷ days left
The result is rounded up so you finish on or before the deadline. Example: 350 pages with 50 already read and 12 days left: 300 ÷ 12 = 25 pages a day.
Pages per day for a yearly reading goal
Pages per day = books per year × average pages per book ÷ 365.

Frequently asked questions
How many pages a day do I need to read to finish a book?
Subtract the pages already read from the total and divide by the days left, then round up. A 350-page book in 14 days needs 25 pages a day.
Does the finish date count as a reading day?
Yes. When you pick a finish date the calculator counts both the start day and the finish day, so reading from the 1st to the 14th gives 14 reading days.
How many pages a day to read 52 books a year?
With an average book of 300 pages, 52 books is 15,600 pages a year, or about 43 pages a day. For 24 books it is about 20 pages a day, and for 12 books about 10.
How long does it take to read one page?
For a typical paperback with 250–300 words per page, an average reader at about 250 words per minute needs 1 to 1.2 minutes per page. Dense or technical books take 2 minutes or more.
How can I stick to a daily page goal?
Tie reading to an existing habit (morning coffee, commute, bedtime), keep the book visible and track your pages. Reading a few extra pages on easy days builds a buffer for busy ones.
